Module 15

Module 15

You’ve made it to the final week of classes. I know this has been a very hard semester (and year) for some of you… it has been for me as well. As far as parties and politics are concerned, the coming weeks are actually potentially some of the most dangerous ever for our nation as the contested election crisis moves into its final and most desperate phase.

This week, please read this 3-part essay on the intricacies around resolving contested elections.

Share your thoughts on the essay in a blog post, and also offer some summary or concluding thoughts on the topic of parties, politics and campaigning.

If you have not yet sent me your Term Paper and posted your Presentation link to your blog, this week would also be a good time to catch up with those assignments.

Next week – finals!

Module 14

Module 14

I hope you all had a safe and uneventful Thanksgiving. As I write, I am hearing whisperings that there may be another lockdown on the way here in California due to the post-Thanksgiving surge. Knowing how anxiety-producing this can be, I’m going to keep this week’s activities light. Please post one paragraph of your own commentary and at least 3 questions in your blog on the topic of President Trump’s historical accusations of election fraud, historic because of the unprecedented number of lawsuits and pressure campaigns that have been used in an attempt to change the results of the election, and because of the way these efforts have continued despite their lack of success.

I know you are all behind, but my hope is that having your questions on the blog will spark some participatory dialogue, now or in the future. You will receive extra credit for responding to another student’s question.

Aside from that blog post, please continue to work on your Research Project as outlined last week. We only have one more week of classes (next week) before finals.
